On Thursday, October 30th, the Lakeland Police Department received a report of a disturbance coming from the residence of Ricky Burton. Upon their arrival, they discovered signs of forced entry. Once inside the residence, they found it to be empty. There were several clues that seemed to indicate that the occupants of the residence did not leave of their own free will, including a purse left behind that belonged to a female victim, Nichole (last name withheld) , a wallet left on the kitchen counter belonging to another female victim, Samantha (last name withheld) , and a baby bottle on the floor that belonged to Samantha’s toddler daughter, Shelby . Upon further investigation of the residence, police discovered open files on the desk top computer. Once all evidence was removed from the crime scene, the contents of the computer were searched and this is what was discovered. It is the last known recording of the three victims.
